We are a family run business with over 35 years of experience in the pet industry and three generations of Hope’s still working in the business. We have pioneered the retail market in South Africa, having had South Africa’s first Mega Retail Pet Shop. Animal Kingdom started in 1992 in Randburg. It didn’t take us long to build a name for ourselves as having the widest selection of fish, animals, accessories and knowledgeable service. Due to changing trends in the area we where forced to relocate. Our decision to open two stores in two different locations has enabled us to share with a wider public what a pet shop experience should feel like. We pride ourselves on providing top quality, healthy fish and animals along with the widest selection of equipment and accessories. We attend all the international pet shows searching for the best quality products at the best possible prices. We also source a lot of our goods from the South African market which creates jobs. Having our own wholesale and packaging company (Superpet) we are able to offer you quality goods at a very competitive price and to keep ahead in the industry. You will see a variety of our goods are packed under our label Superpet which is available nationwide. Our approach to the way we run our business is professional and friendly our customers only come second to our animals.
Our Mission
We aim to change people’s perspectives of what a pet shop is and to make their experience an enjoyable one. We aim to house animals in the best possible conditions while they are with us. We aim to have our customers come back to our store with a smile on their face knowing they will always find our shop full of healthy, happy animals. We aim to have a shop as fully stocked as possible with everything you can think of for a pet and more. We aim to make our customers just as happy as our pets. We aim for our pets to be just as happy with there new owners as they where when they where with us.
