New Life Spectrum Naturox Fish Food
Posted By : Guest Filed Under : Nutrition | Aquatics | Tropical Aquariums | Fish | Fish Food | Marine Aquariums | New Life Spectrum
Last year New Life Spectrum announced it was making some changes to its fish food. In this video released recently, the company discusses the changes.   First off? Squid. They added squid along with whole antarctic krill for both the high protein content, rich omega-3 and no bones to content with. Another positive change was to cut down on starch by using bentonite clay as a binder. Besides cutting down on starches, bentonite clay has been used in aquariums and koi ponds for its other benefits. The levels are probably too low for this type of dosing, but good to know they made this switch. Additionally, they added ginger along with garlic to boost immunity and overall health of fish. Probably the biggest change is the switch to naturox, a natural plant-based preservative. This replaces ethoxyquin that has a controversial reputation in the pet food industry because of its use in making rubber and some pesticides. Although the company notes ethoxyquin is considered sa.. Blue Life Introduces New Kind of Resin Reactor
Posted By : Guest Filed Under : Aquatics | Tropical Aquariums | Aquarium Filters | Marine Aquariums | Filter Media | Marine Additives | Water Treatment | Blue Life
Resin reactors are a brand new concept in reef aquarium water treatment being promoted by Hmahli Marine Life Support Systems, specially designed for use with the Blue Life USA line of resins. Chemical medias such as activated carbon, granular ferric oxide and aluminum oxide are an important tool in the control of unwanted substances and nutrients in the reef aquarium.   More recently, a new class of chemical absorption and adsorption resins are pushing the envelope of nutrient removing performance, and some of them have the added benefit of being regenerable. Over the last several years Blue Life USA has grown to become one of the country’s leading supplier of water conditioning medias. With the FX Advanced Regenerable Resins line, Blue Life is making it both cheaper and easier to condition your water while reusing media resins for removing phosphates, nitrates and general organics. The Nitrate FX, Phosphate FX and Organics FX are high capacity resins for removing s.. [More] BlueLifeMediaResins.jpg

Do you know what the term “Internet of things” means? It is a concept according to which clearly identifiable objects can directly or indirectly collect, process or exchange data by means of the KNX smart electrical installation or a computer network. It also includes the increasingly popular solution for controlling and steering individual devices using mobile phone applications.    AQUAEL, keeping abreast of the times, introduces the world’s first aquarium lamp meeting these requirements, called the LEDDY SLIM LINK. LEDDY SLIM LINK is a remotely controlled, universal LED lamp designed to illuminate open freshwater and marine aquariums. What Is A Natural Aquarium?
Posted By : Guest Filed Under : Aquatics | Aquael | Tropical Aquariums | Fish | Aquascaping
So-called natural aquariums, also known as Japanese aquariums or Amano style aquariums, are all the rage in modern aquaristics. The father of this concept, late Takashi Amano (1954-2015), was a Japanese nature photographer and aquaristics enthusiast.   When taking pictures of natural landscapes, such as the Amazon forest or the steppes, he wanted to try to transfer these behind the glass walls of the aquarium. Using natural decorations such as rocks, wood and roots as well as living plants, he began to create underwater forests, meadows and other landscapes. This trend was quickly adopted by many followers and enthusiasts all over the world. Takashi Amano developed several basic styles of natural aquaristics. These include: - ryuboku – an underwater forest. Using roots, wood and plants (mainly the so-called „epiphytes”), an image reminiscent of the primeval pristine forest flooded with water is reconstructed in the aquarium; - mizube – a kind.. Best Controllers To Automate Your Aquarium
Posted By : Guest Filed Under : Aquatics | Tropical Aquariums | Fish | Marine Aquariums | Kamoer | Dosing Pumps | Controllers | Water Treatment | American Marine
The best way to maintain a healthy aquarium is by keeping your water parameters stable. That is why it is essential to regularly monitor your water quality to ensure key parameters are at optimum levels for fish and coral. Aquarium automation is the hot trend that uses electronic devices to monitor and control key functions in the aquarium. In the past, the best you could do is turn your aquarium light on and off with a timer.   Today aquarium controllers and aquarium monitors are far more advanced and helps to ease the burden many aquarium owners feel about regularly testing their water conditions. While not necessarily a substitute for standard aquarium test kits, an aquarium controller can relieve you of testing key parameters like salinity, temperature, pH and ORP by providing continuous readings and logging the data to help you identify trends. There are different types and levels of automation based on the kind of controller. The control device can be a simple tempe.. [More] KamoerControllerlife.JPG
